What is the IK Grade
IK grade refers to the equipment shell impact protection level, usually IK and IP protection requirements are together, for outdoor electronic equipment, whether overhead, buried or ordinary outdoor placed, need to have the corresponding IP and IK requirements.
The IK rating is determined by a pendulum free-drop impact. It represents the level of protection of the electrical equipment shell against the external mechanical collision.If some parts of the shell have different levels of protection, the corresponding level of protection shall be marked.
If the relevant product decision requires the marking IK code, the marking requirements shall be specified in the relevant product standards.
Product standards shall also specify the marking method used in the following cases:
first. The protection level of one part of the same shell is different from the other parts;
second. The installation status will affect the level of housing protection.
