Vacuum Cleaner FCC Certification
The importance of FCC certification
FCC Certification is the key to ensuring legal sales of electronics in the U. S. market.
For a vacuum cleaner, if it has wireless communication functions (such as wireless remote control, Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth connection, etc.), it needs to pass FCC certification to ensure that the product will not cause harm to human health and will not interfere with the normal operation of other electronic devices.
Main test content of the FCC certification
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test:
Check whether the vacuum cleaner will cause electromagnetic interference to other electronic devices under normal working state, or whether it will suffer from electromagnetic interference from other electronic devices.
Test items include electrostatic discharge (ESD), radiation emission (RE), radiation resistance (RS), electromagnetic sensitivity (EMS), etc.
RF test:
Check in the process of vacuum cleaner, whether it will be harmful interference to the radio frequency, or whether it will be harmful interference from the radio frequency.
Test items include frequency range, power spectral density, occupied bandwidth, carrier frequency offset and stray emission, etc.
FCC Certification process
1. Determine the product type and certification scope:
Clarify the specific types and technical specifications of vacuum cleaners, and determine their attribution within the scope of FCC certification.
2. Prepare the technical documents:
Technical documents include but are not limited to product design drawings, circuit diagrams, lists of materials, user manuals, etc.
Prepare performance test reports for the product, especially EMC and RF test reports.
3. Select the FCC accreditation body:
Select a third-party certification body approved by the FCC for certification evaluation.
4. Submit the application and send the samples for testing:
Fill in the application form and submit it to the certification authority, and send the corresponding test samples for testing.
5. Review the test results and issue a test report:
After the test, the certification body will analyze the test results and issue a test report.
6. Issue FCC certificate and identification:
If the product passes the test, the certification body will review the test report and data and issue the FCC certificate after passing the audit.
The manufacturer needs to put the FCC logo on the product to indicate that the product has passed the FCC certification.
