US ASTM F963
ASTM is a mandatory certification of toy testing in the United States. Whenever the toy products are exported to the United States, they need to do ASTM testing.
ASTM F963 Is a toy testing standard developed by the National Department of Standards of the United States. The latest version is ASTM F963-17 and has become a mandatory standard on September 01,2017.
American Toy Safety Test ASTM F963 Standard details:
1. Supplement some references to food and cosmetics, mainly standard methods for microbiological testing, CFMethods M-1, M-2, M-3 and M-6; USP Volume 35 Methods 61, Methods 62 and Chapter 1231; and FDA's Microbiological Analysis Manual.
2. Supplement the key instructions on the inadvertent omission of ejection toys in 2016 edition,
indicating that KED (kinetic energy density) is only suitable for ejection and arrow toys with kinetic energy above 0.08J.
3. Revision of some relevant test details such as low-power circuit in electric toy testing.
4. Add and make it clear that qualitative push and pull toys do not belong to floor toys.
ASTM F963 The main content of the testing is divided into three parts:
1. Physical and mechanical properties
2. Burn performance
3. Chemical properties
The requirements of physical and mechanical properties mainly involve: impact test, drop test, tension test of component removal, pressure test, bending test and so on.
