Introduction of CEC Certification
CEC certification is an Appliance Efficiency Regulation legally implemented by the California Energy Commission on December 30,2005.
The purpose of the regulation is to improve the efficiency of electricity products, save energy, and reduce gas emissions and greenhouse effect.
The rule states that before electrical items can be marketed in California, they must first comply with the equipment energy efficiency laws. These regulations outline the phases of implementation for 58 different categories of electrical products, as well as the requirements for the energy efficiency index and measurement techniques.
According to the regulations, electrical products must be tested by a qualified laboratory in accordance with the relevant US regulations or standards, and prove that the requirements can be sold in California.
All devices covered by the certification—which includes mobile phones, home wireless phones, portable music players, handheld gaming consoles, toys, and so on—that require the use of external power supply, such as chargers and adapters, must also use energy more efficiently whether in standby and during usage.
The AC / DC or AC / AC external power adapter for the single-phase voltage input is the range of the CEC external power supply. You can determine whether or not your company's electrical items fall outside the purview of CEC certification if they are intended for sale in the California market.
